MARTIAL DESROCHERS We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Martial Lionel Joseph Desrochers, at the age of 81, in the early morning of Saturday, January 12, 2008. His wife Yvette (née Touchette) of 59 years and his family will miss him greatly. He leaves in mourning his sons Alain (Brenda), Denis, Roland (Janet), Fernand; as well as his daughters Colombe (Cliff), Eliette (Rhéal), Simone (Andy), Lise (fiancé George), Marie-Paule (Gilles), Joanne (Ron), Jacqueline (Alain); his 26 grandchildren and his 10 great-grandchildren will also miss his joie de vivre. Martial was born September 17, 1926, in St Leon. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Agnès Desrochers (née Malo), his two brothers Dominique and Gilbert and his two sisters Isabelle Ritchot and Bella Sabourin as well as his daughters Ginette and Gisèle. After he was married, he farmed in St Léon. He then worked at St. Boniface Hospital as an electrician and he owned his own business Lorette Electric Oil Burner Service. After moving to Lorette, Martial volunteered as a fireman, he worked as an electrician, a building inspector and for the CNR. Later he owned his own business as Martial Holdings Ltd and worked for Griffin Canada. Martial était sensible, genereux et ambitieux. Homme de vision, il créa 2 compagnies: Lorette Electric Oil Burning ainsi que Martial Holdings où il embaucha plusieurs personnes. Il aimait écouter et danser à la musique surtout du violon. Nous aurons des bons souvenirs de son amour pour les animaux et les oiseaux. Sa famille est fier de tout ce qu'il a accompli. The celebration of Martial's life will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Eglise Notre Dame de Lorette. The viewing will be at 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. and the mass will begin 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
