JOHN KACZIR It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Kaczir on January 12, 2008. John...Dad; will be honored and remembered, but forever missed by his wife Susan, daughter Lindsay, son Jared, and brother Ed. John was fortunate to have such a large family and is also survived by mother-in-law Sally Takeuchi; brother-in-law Randy Takeuchi, (wife Della, daughters Brynne, Arin, Madison, and Reagan); sister-in-law Gail Moore, (husband Gord, son and daughter Jeremy and Kayley); sister-in-law Karen Takeuchi; and sister-in-law Barb Young, (husband Lou). John was predeceased by his mother and father, Anna and John Kaczir; father-in-law, Bill Takeuchi; and brother-in-law Brad Takeuchi. John was born in Cornberg, Germany on September 3, 1947 and later immigrated to Winnipeg in 1950. He was employed by the City of Winnipeg for 40 years and spent the last 25 years providing service for the Fire Communications Branch with the Fire Paramedics Service. John went to great lengths, fighting to overcome the aftermath struggles of the stroke he suffered in June 2006. He had a big heart and was a competitor; mostly against his daily obstacles caused by his stroke. Though it was difficult for him to be held back by those obstacles, John fought to regain his independence...and prevailed. Thank-you to all the caregivers for their assistance in his recovery. The family wishes to thank the Fire Paramedics Service for their acknowledgement and support. Thank-you to the Victoria Hospital staff for their efforts of assistance; a separate thank-you to Karen for her kindness and sincerity during our time at the hospital. A very special thank-you goes out to Paul and Debbie Cote for coming to our side during our time of need. For your selflessness, we will be forever grateful. John was an amazing friend, husband and most of all...father. He's leaving us with great memories of love and laughter and for that we, his family, would like to thank him. His contagious laughter will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 3:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The service will be officiated by Rev. Ulrich. Interment and reception will immediately follow the service. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
