BRITA KAUS (nee OHLUND) 1911 - 2008 Anna Brita Kaus passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital, with her family at her side, January 16, 2008. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Albin, her sisters, Nina and Inga, brothers, Helmer and Lars, her loving husband of 58 years, Arthur, and her dearest daughter, Carrie Ann. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family, son Bengt (Carol), son-in-law Alfred Hummel (Reita); grandchildren, Andrew (Marjie), Richard (Stephanie), Judy (Patrick Lafond), Darcy, Colin, Sheldon (Jude); great-grandchildren Kael, Ella, Riley and Colt. Brita was born in Lulia, Sweden June 27, 1911 and came to Canada at the age of seven, settling in Hilbre. Her life was filled with great hardship and even greater joy in all that it had to offer. She experienced so many changes in her 96 years and she embraced it all. She enriched all the lives she touched and she will leave a huge void for all who knew her. Funeral services for Brita will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faulkner Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Pallbearers will be her six grandchildren. To the many that took part in Brita's care over the years, her family thanks you. This is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It's part of the Master's Plan. A step closer to home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild to be used in the Palliative Care Unit, in care of Julie Bergner, Box 721, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0, or to the Faulkner Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
