PHYLLIS MCCOMBIE 1906 - 2008 Phyllis passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at her residence in the Lutheran Sunset Home. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis in 1991; her daughter Sylvia in 1989; two brothers and a sister. Phyllis is survived by her son, Ron (Jacqueline); grandchildren, Katherine McCombie, Lewis (Kim) McCombie, Gregory Pallen, David Cairns-Pallen, Valdene (Jake) Charmmartin; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Kelly, Lewis, Joel, Renee, Riel, Macaela, and Shelby; sister, Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was born in Grenfell, SK. She worked in Regina as a secretary for a law firm. She married Lewis and moved to Winnipeg and raised their family. Home and family were her primary concerns. She was active in St. George's Anglican Church and Crescentwood Community Club. She spent many enjoyable summers at Falcon and West Hawk Lakes. Golf, curling, and bridge were enjoyed as well. Phyllis relocated to Luther Towers in Saskatoon to be near family. Many new friends were made and she continued bridge and various other activities. The Family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Lutheran Sunset Home. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Lutheran Sunset Home (1212 Osler Street, Saskatoon, SK) on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Winnipeg at Green Acres Memorial Gardens and Funeral Chapel at a time to be determined this spring. Arrangements entrusted to Mervin G. Oleksyn, ACADIA DRIVE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 306-955-1600.
