Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHANIE TURNEY In the afternoon of January 9, 2008, Stephanie quietly passed away at the age of 86 at Luther Court, Victoria, BC. Stephanie was born January 2, 1922, in Winnipeg, the youngest child in a family of five siblings. She is survived by her three children, Paul and Lisa in Toronto, Ralph in Victoria, her grandchildren, Katie, Trisha, Keri-lynn and five great-grandchildren. Upon finishing a clerical course at Red River Community College in 1975, she went to work for the Winnipeg Police force, and retired in 1987. Stephanie lived in Winnipeg for 76 years before fulfilling a lifelong dream of moving to Victoria. She enjoyed golfing, square dancing, traveling, and was especially devoted to her three children. During the last ten years, Stephanie spent much of her time with her son Ralph and his wife Nance, who both helped to make living more enjoyable for her. One of her favorite pastimes was walking along the seawall on Dallas Road. Stephanie was predeceased by her brothers Thadeus (Ted), Edmund (Ed), and sisters Lil Stromsky and Edna Robbie. All lived in Winnipeg. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Luther Court and Amica Douglas House, who made Stephanie's life as comfortable as possible during the last few years. A memorial service celebrating Stephanie's life will be held at the Royal Oak Garden Chapel, 4673 Falaise Dr., on Tuesday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m.
