MARION ANNE MELNYK (nee HOLODRYGA) In the early hours of January 16, 2008, Marion passed away peacefully with her two daughters and family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her daughters, Donna (Sebastian) Swarzynski, Diana (Gregg) Chapple, 2 babies Penny and Lexus, mother Nettie, brothers, Peter (Linda), Ernie (Leona), Victor (Brenda), Rick (Elaine), Jim, Jerry (Cornelia), David (Karen), Mark (Tammy), Ben (Sonja), sisters, Susan (Terry) Luhowy, Elsie (Paul) Gregoire, sisters-in-law, Kathy Soode and Irene (Barry) Swanton of BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ron, father John and mother-in-law Mary. Marion was born on November 15, 1946 in Rosa, MB and three years later moved with her family to Tolstoi where she grew up. When she was 18 she moved to Winnipeg to attend Success Career College. Shortly after she began working for Canadian Stock Audit which gave her the opportunity to travel throughout Canada. She went on to work for The Bay, Dakota Hotel, Garden City Inn and finally Vita Health where she worked for 18 years prior to her illness. This is where she made so many wonderful friends whom she loved dearly. Marion met her husband Ron in 1975 and together were blessed to raise two wonderful daughters. When her husband passed away in 1995, she met with courage, the responsibilities that fell upon her and sacrificed so much for her children. She always took life in stride, never complaining, accepting all things for what they were even with all she had to endure with her illness. To know Marion was to know the most amazing and wonderful person; always caring, thoughtful, loving, kind, giving, always putting others before herself. Marion's house was a home for everyone and even a place to stay for numerous relatives, friends, exchange students, and animals in need of a home, at various times throughout the years. She took great pleasure in being around those she loved. Marion put all her heart into everything she did, accomplishing more in a day than most people can in a week. Mom took great pleasure in making her famous perogies for everyone to enjoy. She also enjoyed Bingo and was overjoyed when her family surprised her with a trip to Las Vegas for her 60th Birthday. Donna and Diana wish to thank mom's sisters, brothers and their families for all their care, support and love they have shown mom, not only when she was ill but throughout her life. It meant alot to her and to us, to have you by her side during her final days. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Victoria Hospital, Maryanne from Palliative Home Care and the staff at Riverview 3-E Palliative Care Centre for their excellent care and compassion, especially Lorraine, Alina, Holly and Tim. Prayers will be said Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be Monday, January 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with the Rt. Rev. H. Lakusta officiating. Interment to follow. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 338-7111
