Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGERY DERBYSHIRE Peacefully and after a lengthy illness Margery passed away at the Sharon Home on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the age of 87. She was predeceased her husband of 54 years, Ellis. Her memory will be cherished by her children Doreen (Don Brown), Barb (Eric Loewen), George Derbyshire and Alan Derbyshire, her grandchildren Tricia and Steven Brown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Margery was born on May 3, 1920 and grew up in Manchester, England. During the Second World War she met her Husband Ellis. They enjoyed a marriage of 54 years before his passing in 2000. As a War Bride, she came to Canada in 1946 on the HMS Aquitania, living first in Alberta before settling in Winnipeg where she raised her family and spent the rest of her days. Margery will be greatly missed by her Family and all those who knew her. The Family would like to thank the kind and caring Nurses and Staff of the Sharon Home for making Mom's final years comfortable. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margery's memory may be made to the The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., R3C 4G2 or The Sharon Home, 146 Magnus Ave. R2W 2B4.
