Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (BERT) VERMETTE It is with great sadness the family announces the passing Albert (Bert) Vermette on Friday, January 18,2008. Bert was predeceased by his mother and father, Joseph and Marie Louise Vermette, three brothers, Rene, Marcel and Roland. Great friends Armand Normand and Ed Labossiere Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol, son Roger, daughter Linda Toderan of Winnipeg and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward Vermette (Claudette) of Winnipeg, Gerry Vermette (Judy) of Surrey, BC, four sisters, Marie Konowalchuk (Steve), of Hamiota, MB, Jeanette Konowalchuk of Lorette, MB, Helen Gumieny (Henry) of St. Adolphe, MB, Lorraine Ross (Bruce) of Winnipeg as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bert was born and raised in St. Boniface and attended Provencher School. He met his wife Carol in 1972. Bert was very involved in the Festival du Voyageur from 1972 to 1986, fiddling and jigging. He started the St. Boniface Horseshoe Club, was involved with the Union National Metis and was very fond of old time music. He was a man with great community spirit. Funeral Mass Celebrating Bert's life will take place Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Emile's Church, 556 St. Anne's Rd. Honorary Palbearers are Marcel Normand, Henri Lecuyer, Roger Vien, Brian Vermette Frank Hunter and Moose Konowalchuk. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
