BETTY LOU MYRDAL (nee HARRISON) June 17, 1955 to January17, 2008 Betty passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 with her husband Jon by her side. Betty leaves her brothers, Albert (Cathy), George (Sherry), James; sisters, Patricia (Janis), Lynn, Lois (Lawrence) and their families, and the Myrdals whom she was fortunate to have gained through her husband and friend, Jon. Betty was predeceased by her parents, James Albert and Pheobea Harrison. Betty grew up on a farm near McCreary Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg after graduating from high school. She met her husband of 21 years, Jon Myrdal, while living in Winnipeg. Betty and Jon both have a love of country life, and each new home moved them further away from the big city and onto bigger pastures. The cats, dogs, cattle, the chickens, the ducks and geese, were all parts of the farm life she loved. Spring with new calves and planting her garden were some of the best of times to be shared. Following many years of employment with the CIBC, her move to the Interlake presented the opportunity to work with people she truly enjoyed at the Stonewall Pharmacy. Betty will be remembered for all the interests she had, including her love of cooking, reading, gardening and collecting antiques. She treasured - her collections of books and magazines, plants, her pictures, her animals and birds - her home filled with treasures collected over a lifetime. Betty will be missed for her always present sense of humour, her love of family and friends, and the companionship and support she gave to all those around her. Her instantly recognizable laugh brightened any room and put a smile in your heart. Betty's wish was to be cremated and to have her ashes remain where her heart always was, on the farm with her husband Jon, and her special companions Sam, Gerry and Badger. Thank you to CancerCare Manitoba, Women's Hospital and Dr Krepart and his dedicated team whom Betty and Jon trusted and respected. Following a private family service, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 1:00 at the Scandinavian Center, 764 Erin Street. Neil Bardal Inc. 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
