Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMIEL CYRIEL VAN DE KEERE Suddenly, on January 18, 2008, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Emiel Van De Keere passed away at the age of 85. Emiel was born August 13, 1922, in Prairie Grove, MB. In 1947 he married Louise and were together 49 years before her parting. They lived in Prairie Grove, where they raised their five children. Emiel was a farmer who subsidized his income working for the Transcona School Division, first as a bus driver, and then as a courier. Predeceased by his wife Louise Zulma (nee Dupre ) in 1996 and son Raymond, Emiel leaves to mourn his five children, Robert (Carla), Gene (Jeanette), Joe (Thelma) Van De Keere, Irene (Gary) Shaske and Diane (Bruce) Turner; grandchildren, Tania, Christine, Judy, Rene (Shannon) Van De Keere, Travis, Charlene (Dr. Gregory Zimmerman), Jacob Shaske, Julie, Michelle and Lisa Turner; great-grandchildren, Brendon and Cadence Van De Keere. His brother Gus and sister Regina and their families will also miss him. Emiel was predeceased by his siblings, Marie, Irene and Rene. He will be missed by his many friends at Park Manor. Friends may call to pay their respects on Wednesday evening, January 23, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. Funeral service to follow on Thursday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 710 Roanoke Street, Transcona, with Father Owen Steeves presiding. Interment at the family plot, Prairie Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg, MB. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
