MARIA (ALMA) FROHWERK (nee NICKEL) On January 20, 2008, Alma passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Survived by her children, Dennis (Jan), Al (Diane) and Carol (Joe). Grandchildren, Jennifer (Jamey), Laura, Kim (Rob), Kristy, Jeff, Brianna and Matthew. Two great-grandchildren, Isis and Jacob. She also leaves behind her sister Edna, brothers, Norman (Ruth), Lawrence and Bill (Elrose). Sisters-in-law, Hertha Kowcun and Martha Carr as well as many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Bill, parents, Olga and Roy Nickel, brothers, Herbert and Clarence. Alma was born in Grahamdale, MB on March 4, 1922. She married Bill in 1950 and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. She always had a smile on her face, loved to joke and cherished time spent with her family. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Mom at Fred Douglas Lodge. Special thanks to the Spruce Unit for the care, kindness and compassion shown to Mom and the family over the past few years. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Friday January 25, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rev. Dr. Frank Bahr officiating. Remembrances may be made to Fred Douglas Lodge at 1275 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2X 0B8 or the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3G 1Z5 in Alma's memory.
