MABEL BERNICE OUTHWAITE (nee JARVIS) Peacefully, on Friday, January 18, 2008, at Oakview Place, Mabel Bernice Outhwaite of Winnipeg, passed away in her 77th year. Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Lawrence; children Douglas (Janet), Wayne (Krista), David (Romana), Lois, Ian (Arlene), Kimberly (Raymond) Wade; grandchildren Ross (Mellisa), Kevin (Mireille), Jennifer (Ray), Melanie, William, Denise (Chris), Brandon, Cameron, Joshua (Mackenzie), Matthew, Jared, Cassandra and Brittney; great-grandchildren Madison, Cailin, Lauren, Evan, Megan, Emma and Daelan; her brothers and sisters Ethel Beswatherick, Cliff (Audrey), Marion Outhwaite, Sam (Sharon), George (Sharon), Fred (Judy); as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Hazel Jarvis; brothers and sisters Allan, Annie, Eleanor, Edythe and Robert; as well as brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Tom, George, Ernie, George, Ray and Marion. Mabel was born February 25, 1930. She grew up on the family farm near Melbourne, Manitoba. Mabel married Lawrence in 1948. They resided and raised their family in Brandon and then Winnipeg. She enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, bowling, camping and gardening. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. James United Church, 234 Parkview Street, with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Interment will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carberry Plains Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of 1 North and 1 East, Oakview Place, for the care and support provided to Mabel. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Mabel's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba Inc., 10 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg Manitoba R3C 4G2.
