LAWRENCE ERVIN KLAPPRAT July 15, 1938 - January 21, 2008 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Lawrence Klapprat, aged 69, passed away at the Beausejour Hospital after a brief illness. Lawrence will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Brenda, daughters, Pam (Bob Selch), Gail (Rob Pickering) and Sandy (Jarrett Powers); six grandchildren, Katie, Erik, Lily, Lauren, Justin and Ryan. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Wilbert, Alvin, Lorraine, and Beverly, as well as many other family and friends. He was predeceased by infant daughter Angela, parents Fernie and Erna Klapprat, in-laws Dick and Nettie Greenwood and sister Linda. Dad was a very generous man, with a sure smile, dry sense of humour, and a kind and gentle way. He cherished the special times spent with family, especially his dear grandchildren who were the light of his life. A memorial service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church Gertrude Avenue and 1st Street N., Beausejour on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Due to his illness Dad was unable to speak. In the past couple of weeks he wrote his family many little notes. Recently written by Dad: I am one of the more fortunate people of the world. I have a wonderful wife, great children and sons-in-law, and wonderful grandchildren. This is worth more than money. Maybe I couldn't always show it, but I loved all of you.
