Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD GERALD HELM April 16, 1944 - January 19, 2008 On January 19, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ron Helm, beloved husband of Donna Helm of Moosehorn, Manitoba passed away at the age of 63. Ron was born on April 16, 1944 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He received his education at the Kissman School in Moosehorn. He farmed many years in the Moosehorn area until 1983 and then he moved to Elm Creek for two and a half years where he worked as a farm labourer. He then returned to Moosehorn in 1985 and worked at the CFB Gypsumville as a Civilian Courier until the Base closed. Ron then went to work for Paul's Hauling in 1989 as a professional truck driver until his retirement in December of 2006. Ron enjoyed his retirement this past year doing the things he loved; hunting and fishing with friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with his 11 grandchildren, working in his wood shop Knot Splinter . Ron leaves to mourn his wife Donna (nee Frampton) of 38 years. They were married on April 26, 1969. His sons and their wives: Jeff and Jany, Trevor and Cherie, Derrick and Crystal; grandchildren, Cameron, Jessica, Jonathon, Kyle, Noah, Hailey, Joshua, Meah, Isaiah, Jeremy and Zarah. Also his two brothers and their wives, Wilbert and Lyla and Harold and Sandi; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Ida (1977) and Jack (1983) Helm. Ron will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moosehorn Community Hall, with Pastor Bill Watson and Jim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Charles Gall, Dwight Cook, Darryl Newman, David Buztynski, John Schultz and Jason Nickel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory can be made to the Mission Link (Starhe Children's Orphanage), 491 Westheight Dr., Kitchener, ON N2N 1M6. (This orphanage is located in Tanzania, Africa. This mission project was very close to his heart.) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
