Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM EDWARD TAIT 1934-2008 On Sunday January 20, 2008, William Edward Tait passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital with his family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Mary (MacKenzie), his son Ed (Kathi), his daughter Leah (Wayne), his brother-in-law David MacKenzie (Colleen) and his five grandsons Luke, Carter, Wyatt, Noel and Finley. He will be missed by many other family members, his special Aggie friends and his friends at Reh-Fit. Bill was born in Manitou, Manitoba on March 14, 1934 to Edward and Marion (Bradley) Tait. Bill was educated in Manitou graduating from high school in 1952. Bill attended the University of Manitoba and graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He later graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax with a Bachelor of Education. Throughout his multi-faceted career, Bill used his creative abilities as a photographer, writer, account executive for several advertising agencies and as a teacher. In the latter part of his career, Bill worked as an Agricultural Representative and Information Officer for the Manitoba Department of Agriculture. Bill enjoyed every minute of life despite being afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis. His sense of humour and quick wit were appreciated by all who knew him. His positive outlook, his gentle nature and kind heart made him an exceptional husband, father, Papa and friend. Bill always enjoyed a good joke, a good story and loved to laugh. He was well known for his one-liners. Bill was a longtime member of MENSA and was impassioned by an ongoing thirst for knowledge. He was an avid reader and always had the right answers to the toughest questions in the crossword puzzles. Everyone wanted to be on Bill's team for Trivial Pursuit. Bill was most proud of his family. He would light up whenever he spoke about his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved to hear about their academic and sporting accomplishments. He was delighted to discover that all five grandsons were developing their own unique sense of humor and enjoyed sharing a laugh with them. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital, especially the wonderful nursing staff of 4 South and Drs. Penner, Cavers and Munsany. Funeral mass will take place at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 85 Kirkbridge Drive on Thursday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, The Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of one's choice.
