Born: Jun 30, 1942
Date of Passing: Jan 20, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGINO GIARDINO Change in time of service It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend on Sunday, January 20, 2008, at the Grace Hospital. To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his loving wife Giovanna (Nina); his children, Tony (Hayley), Pam (Guy) and James (Alfonsina); his grandchildren, Mandy, Jenna, Joshua, Daniel, Jacob, Kyla, and Sofia; his stepchildren, Tina (Paul) and Sandra (Mike); his grandchildren, Aiden and Isabella; his brother John (Linda); his sisters, Candita, Alba (Alex), Elda (Pasquale), Nella (Gino) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gino was born June 30, 1942, in Grimaldi, Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1961. He trained as a tailor for many years back home. He worked endlessly to support his family; first at Sterling Cloak, then as a crane operator for CN Rail until he purchased Garry Tailors in 1977, later changing the name to Gino's Custom Tailors. After opening his tailor shop he worked his full-time midnight shift at CN and operated the business during the day. He did this until his tailor shop proved to be successful three years later. He was a talented tailor. Gino spent his spare time as a wine connoisseur, who enjoyed both making and drinking his delicious product. He enjoyed listening and collecting music. He often watched movies with his eyes shut. He always cherished the time he spent entertaining his family and friends. Barbecuing was his specialty. A good time was always guaranteed when he was around. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and The Sons of Italy. He will be fondly remembered for his sincere generosity. We will all miss you and you will always remain in our hearts. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital. We would like to thank his longtime doctors: Dr. Smith and Dr. Drexler. At Gino's request cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 26 at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gino's memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Our hearts are heavy And our tears, they flow But the heavens called you And you're safe, we know. We've cherished our time And the great man you are Your memory will live And you'll never be far. You've always been more Than a Father and friend And we'll all hold you close Until we see you again. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J COUTU CO.
