Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES EDITH SHANNACAPPO (nee HOULE) February 11, 1929 - January 20, 2008 With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Agnes Shannacappo - our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on January 20, 2008 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Agnes was born on February 11, 1929 in Keeseekoowenin First Nation (Elphinstone), Manitoba. She married in October of 1946 and moved to Rolling River First Nation where she raised her family. In 1981 she moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Left to mourn are her children, Jenny Lou Omeasoo (Neil), John Michael Shannacappo, Viola Stevenson (Sonny), Terrence Shannacappo, Dorothy Simard (Morley), Leslie Vernon (Sarah Shannacappo), Joseph Shannacappo, Marjorie Brinkerhoff (Jay), Valerie Shorting (Gordon), Monica Shannacappo, Lisa Harcus (Rick Hines), Christine Shannacappo (Darryl Rudolph). As well as adopted sister, Mary Flett, sisters-in-law Clara Shannacappo, Amelia McKay, and Rose Whitebird all of Rolling River First Nation. Agnes had 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She also had many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that she cared for deeply. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Lionel Shannacappo, children, Lorna, George, Randel and Patricia; special daughter-in-law Shirley Ann Shannacappo (nee Chartrand), parents Sam and Clara Houle, brothers Colin, Joseph, Paul, Reuben and sisters Janet, Dorothy and Lorna. The memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel (211 Regent Avenue West) in Winnipeg. The Wake and Feast will be held at the Southquill Hall on Thursday, January 24 at 5:00 p.m. The funeral service and the final resting place will be held in Rolling river First Nation (Erickson, Manitoba) on January 25 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Arrangements in Care Of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE, WEST AT BOND 224-1525
