Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN RAILTON BELYEA (nee RAILTON) On Monday, January 21, 2008 at Lions Manor Personal Care Home, Jean Belyea passed away at the age of 95 years. Born in Newdale, Manitoba in 1912, she was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1947, father Isaac Railton in 1917, her mother May (Nana) in 1977 and her brother Isaac in 1924. She came to Winnipeg in 1927 to attend United College, now the University of Winnipeg and graduated in 1931 with a BA degree. In 1935 Jean married Walter P. Belyea. After his death, she resumed her profession, teaching for the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 until she retired in 1977. In later years, Jean enjoyed her life at Lions Place and her winters down south with her family which includes her daughter Ann and husband Rob Hay of Tampa, Florida, her daughter May and the late Frank Johnson of Tampa, Florida, her five grandchildren, Sigrid and her husband Todd Calhoun, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, Grant Johnson of Tampa, Florida and Kristin and her husband Stephen Godwin of Tallahassee, Florida, Kathryn Hadzibajric and her husband Dzeni of Tampa, Florida and Collette Hay of Maryland, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Rebecca Johnson, Linnea, Janelle and Kristjana Calhoun and Kaitlyn, Lindsey and Britain Godwin. Our thanks to Iva and Archie Yeo and their family for the many years of love and caring. Thanks also to the staff of the third floor, personal care for their excellent care. According to Jean's wishes, no special services will be held. Her hope is that her family and friends will remember all the good times. Do not grieve that I have died. Rejoice that I have lived.
