IRENE KATHARINE FALK Peacefully and surrounded by her family on January 23, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer, Irene went home to be with her Saviour - who was her closest friend. Irene entered this world at 11:45 p.m., December 23, 1951. She left this world at 3:00 p.m. on January 23, 2008, just one month past her 56th birthday. Left to cherish her memory are her parents Henry and Kay Falk, sister Sandra (Fred) Harder, brother Ronald Falk and sister Karen Falk. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. One of Irene's special gifts was that of friendship. Her life was blessed with many special friends. Especially dear to her were her friends Ron and Debbie McArthur. Ron was more like a big brother to her. They spent many hours touring through Southern Ontario on her visits to Toronto. Irene's quiet strength and inner beauty carried her through many difficult days. She fought hard to beat her disease right to her last breath. Irene's favourite time of year was Christmas and she would begin to decorate the house in the middle of November. Her first Christmas was spent in the Morris hospital and her last Christmas in the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg. In keeping with Irene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the many doctors, nurses and others at HSC who touched her life while she was in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Your kindness touched all of our lives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Irene to CancerCare Manitoba or Avant Ministries. We love you. We will miss you Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD 982-7550
