Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAUREEN GRACE DRENNAR (nee SWANN) Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with C.O.P.D., Maureen passed away with her family at her side at St. Boniface General Hospital on Monday, January 21, 2008. Maureen was born in Winnipeg on Atlantic Avenue, to Jim and Nellie Swann on November 9, 1925. Mom was predeceased by her daughter Donna in 1957 and stepgranddaughter Kelsie in 1997. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Garnet; children, Wayne (Donna), Rick (Maria), Darlene (Rory), grandchildren, Stephen, Donna (David) and stepgranddaughter Kaitlin. She will also be missed by her sister Irene, extended family and many friends. Mom and Dad were married on her 21st birthday and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. Mom loved her many winters in Texas at Pine-to-Palm and summers at Bonnet Oaks in Lac du Bonnet. Great memories of days in the sun, evenings of cards and dice and many family Gobble-Ho celebrations. Mom worked for many years at Office Overload as a comptometer operator where she met and made lifelong friends Olive and Yvonne, just to name two. Mom, through the years enjoyed her flower gardens. Her irises and lilies have traveled many generations and will continue for many more. Two of her favourite pastimes were knitting and reading. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for mom through her illness, her caregivers from Home Care and a special thanks to the staff at MICU, St. Boniface General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin's-in-the-Field Anglican Church, 160 Smithfield Ave. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Maureen's memory may be made to the Fire Fighters Burn Fund and or the CNIB. Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715 We love you Gramma.
