Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAGNEY ELIZABETH WARREN (nee STRAND) It is with great sorrow and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Dagney Elizabeth Warren, on January 9, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital. Dagney was predeceased by her husband Frederick, her son Wallace, daughter-in-law Chris, daughter Vivian Lernout, and son-in-law Joseph. She leaves behind her grandchildren Craig (special friend Jinny), Kirk (Debbie), Chris Deb (Greg) Gagnon, Rob, Dennis Lernout, Karen (Grant) Hekle, Dave (Lynn) Lernout, Wendy (Greg) Van Walleghem, and her 17 great-grandchildren. Dagney was born July 7, 1909 in Lac du Bonnet, before moving to Winnipeg. It was in Winnipeg where she met and married her husband Fred in 1927, and where the two together raised their family. Greatly admired for her pioneering entrepreneurship in the early fifties, Dagney ran many businesses - among which included Warren's Corner. Grandma enjoyed crocheting, baking, shopping, gardening and watching her grandsons play hockey. She also enjoyed her many vacations to Florida, and short trips to Grand Forks. Grandma loved and appreciated her family and friends dearly; we were all enriched by her many years of knowledge and wisdom, and will forever cherish in our hearts the many great memories of Grandma. The family would like to extend a special that you to Shelley for all of the time and special care she bestowed on grandma, as well as to the staff at the Golden Door. Your smiling face we will always see, You're always in our memory, Independent, kind, and feisty in every way, You are gone but not forgotten, in our hearts you will always stay. A private family service has taken place.
