HENRY TOEWS November 15, 1917 January 19, 2008 On Saturday, January 19, 2008, Henry passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 90 years. Remaining to forever cherish Henry's memory are his sister; two brothers; and two daughters, Marjorie Hanowski and Frieda (Cecil) Anderson; his four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a few cousins. He was the second son of Henry H. and Mary Funk Toews. His brothers and sisters are David, Elma Hardman, Helen Dick/Mcreight, Arthur, Norman and Vernon. Born in Altona, MB, Henry spent his early years on farms in Westbourne and Niverville, MB. On December 20, 1941 Henry married Freda Martin and moved to a farm north of Selkirk, MB. After his first wife died, Henry married Zella Ross, in April 1963. Together they lived in Fort Frances and Guelph, ON. In September 2004 circumstances necessitated that he move to Winnipeg where he was able to make new friends. Henry was a friendly, straight spoken man with a great love for God. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on October 14, 1940. Henry looked forward to continuing to serve God in a paradise earth for eternity. On Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Henry's memorial service will be held in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1877 Inkster Blvd.
