PETER GEORGE KUZINA July 25, 1932 - January 23, 2008 With the greatest of sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather at the Concordia General Hospital. Peter is survived by daughters Shelley (Jake) and Sandra (Robin); grandchildren, Katelyn, Joshua, Rachel and Sarah and brothers Steve (Jean), and John (Iris) and sister-in-law Luba and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father John, mother Anastazia, sisters Kay and Ann, and brothers Mike and Fred. Peter lost his beloved wife Vivian Marilyne in December, 2005. Peter was born in the rural municipality of Springfield, Manitoba. He lived his early years near Cook's Creek (Hazelridge) and often recalled with wistfulness the happy memories of living that time on the land , the farm. They eventually moved to various locations within Winnipeg and here Peter was exposed to the different business ventures of his father, a man with very little formal education but a great ingenuity and practicality for making an honest living for his family. This had much influence on Peter and he completed his schooling with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba. Peter loved the challenge of the business world and spent most of his working years building and selling his various ventures, usually in partnership with one or more of his brothers. On October 6, 1956 Peter married a beautiful RN named Vivian and together they raised two daughters. Vivian had much illness and Peter often had to be both mother, father and family provider. He did so with an amazing kindness and gentleness to all. He was Peter, the biblical rock, and taking care of family was his primary focus. The family would like to thank the staff at 3 West Concordia Hospital. During our 18 days of life and death struggles with dad, we were constantly grateful of their support and strength. They offered dad and the family dignity and quality of life to the very end. Lastly, dad would like to thank his two friends Dr. Simm and Dr. Burke for years and decades of care and concern. Dad, you said before you passed away, Don't forget a father . How could we? You live in our hearts and minds every day. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 30 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing one half hour prior at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe Avenue and Brazier Street with Fr. Léo Couture presiding. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
