MARY JANE MORRIS CATHCART (nee BERGSTROM) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Mary at Riverview Health Centre on Wednesday, January 23, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1997, mother Gladys in 1970 and a younger brother Bertie in 1948. Mary leaves to mourn her six daughters, Anne (Ray), Laurie (Ron), Wendy (Andy), Donna (Harry), Diana and Sandra (Jason). She also leaves a legacy with her 16 grandchildren, Sandra, Deborah, Thomas, Crystal, Eric, David, Shawn, Timothy, Marc, Jeneane, Jennelle, Robbie, Alexander, Kira, Anthony and Jacob. Also surviving her are two brothers, William and Charles Bergstrom. She was blessed to have met her three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Angela and Tianna. Mary was born in Winnipeg and attended Mulvey and Gordon Bell Schools. Prior to marrying Bill in 1949 and raising her family she took great pleasure in her position as administrative assistant to the Social Services Department at the Health Sciences Centre. Mary was a loving and caring mother who devoted herself to her children and family. Some of her best memories were of times spent at Winnipeg Beach. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the special people with the WRHA Palliative Care Program and Riverview Health Centre, 3E and 2E, who provided her with loving care. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. (corner of Keewatin and Inkster) with Rev. Glen Horst officiating. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of choice in care of Mosaic Funeral Services, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R2X 1R3.
