FLORENCE MCLEAN (nee SUTHERLAND) 1918 - 2008 Peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2008 Florence Victoria McLean (nee Sutherland) left this world after a wonderful, fulfilling, happy and fun-filled ride. Flo was born on September 18, 1918 at Clandeboye, MB, a place that always held a special spot in her heart. She was one of six Sutherland girls and they remained a close knit family, one that includes many nieces and nephews. She was small in stature but big in life. She backed down from no one. She always worked hard and continued that ethic right to the end. She loved hearing a good joke and especially enjoyed telling one. If there was a gathering of friends or family, or a piano to play she would be front and centre enjoying every minute. Flo was an avid curler, curling for many years at the Grain Exchange Curling Club. In her later years she enjoyed watching her family curl, especially her granddaughters and watching curling on TV. Flo was predeceased by her husband Jack McLean and is survived by her daughter Kathie Buote, her son Ken McLean and grand-daughters Jennifer Buote, Kara and Leigh-Ann McLean all of whom meant the world to her. A Celebration of Flo's life will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Fort Rouge Curling Club located at 750 Daly Street at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Florence's memory to St. George's Wakefield Church, 8716 Provincial Highway No. 9, Clandeboye, Manitoba R0C 0P0 or to a charity of your choice.
