RON RICHARDSON 1945 - 2008 Suddenly on January 25, 2008 with his wife Bobbie by his side, Ron Richardson passed away. Born and raised a Winnipeg boy, Ron spent most of his life as a truck driver, enjoying the freedom of the road and the many friends he made along the way. Retiring to the Lonepine cabin in Belair, MB with his wife Bobbie, Ron left the road and the city behind to live a peaceful life near the lake where many new friends were made and cherished. Over those years, friends and family enjoyed many happy times gathering around the fire or swimming at Lester beach with Ron and Bobbie. The cabin was a place where all were welcome to visit, and visit they did. The past few years were not easy for Ron. A lengthy illness made such celebration hard for him to enjoy but he would be there regardless, playfully teasing his granddaughter Stephanie or simply enjoying each precious moment when he could. Ron leaves to remember him dearly, his wife Roberta (Bobbie) Page. His sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Jim Hewey. His son James Cheetham and wife Tanya. His granddaughter Stephanie Cheetham. His niece Debbie Leclaire, her husband Dan and daughter Taylor. Sister-in-law Donna Yurkiw, her husband Matthew and daughter Ayla. Special thanks to steadfast friends Gunhild Liepz, and Leslie and Robert Syrota, who were there for Ron and Bobbie in their moment of need. The family would also like to thank, Dr. Lau, Dr. Lambrects, Dr. Abu Shahma, The East Beach Fire and Rescue, and The Pine Falls EMS for their compassion and assistance. Ron will also be sadly missed by his many special friends made over the years in Belair, MB. A celebration of Ron's life will be held on his birthday, January 29, 2008 at the Grand Marais Recreation Hall, 90 Matilda Ave. in Grand Marais. Friends and family are welcome to attend between 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to a charity of your choice are welcome.
