TERRY AUGUST EYJOLFSON It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Terry August Eyjolfson on January 25, 2008 at the Dauphin General Hospital at the age of 70 years. Terry was born on May 11, 1937 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. He lived with his family at the north end of Lake Manitoba until he was six years old, when they moved to Steep Rock, so he could go to school. After high school, he attended MTI in Winnipeg, where he completed a diesel mechanics course. He then spent two years in Coral harbor on South Hampton Island, where he maintained the diesel power plant. After returning home he worked at various jobs such as crane and caterpillar operator, and continued working on construction jobs. Terry loved big machinery and really liked working with his graders and bulldozer. He also liked inventing new things or figuring out how to make something work better. He could solve almost anything. In 1964 he married Joyce Wurster and they lived on the ranch in Steep Rock for 43 years until his death. He was a very kind, patient man and loved his family and friends very much. He respected them and their feelings and was respected back. He will always be loved and remembered. He was predeceased by his mother, Lilla in 1993, his father Gusti in 1999, mother-in-law Mary Wurster in 1974, father-in-law Henry Wurster in 1991, brothers-in-law, Ron Wurster in 2001 and Stan Tochor in 2002. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, sons, Wayne (Brenda), Michael, and daughter Susan (Alan), sister Merle, special aunts, Edie and Olive, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In accordance with Terry's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 1, 2008 in Faulkner Hall, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the hall and a family interment will be held at a later date at the Faulkner Cemetery. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers for Terry that day. The family would like to thank Dr. Willemse, the nurses and staff in the ICU and surgical unit in the Dauphin hospital for your time, your caring way and your concern for our family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, in care of Julie Bergner, Box 721, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0, or to a charity of one's choice. arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • A gentleman, husband, father and friend. We as mortals are less without him. I think God must have needed help and Terry was the best for the job. His compassion, intelligence and mechanical abilities caused him to stand out in the crowd. I wish time had allowed me to know him better. - Posted by: Alan Sparks (Family) on: Jan 29, 2008
