Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) HENRY SOPER Quietly and peacefully, on January 24, 2008, with his daughter and granddaughter by his side, Bob Soper, cherished husband of Audrey, passed away at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his soul-mate, love of his life and constant companion of 62 years, Audrey; son Richard Shannon; daughter Linda (George) Daeninck; grandchildren, Kristine (Craig) Petrie, Kurt (Carol) Daeninck and great-granddaughter Emilie. Bob was a quiet and gentle man of few words. He was the youngest son of the late Sydney and Alice Soper. A proud veteran of the Second World War serving in Africa, Bob was a long-time employee of the T. Eaton Company, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed playing crib, fishing, bowling and especially working in his garden. Bob loved to travel and spent many hours planning extensive trips across Canada and the United States. Above all, Bob was a family man who loved nothing more than spending quality time with those he loved the most. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Golden Door, especially to Sandra, Linda and Earl whose care and compassion made his passing so peaceful. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bob's life will be held at The Golden Links Lodge, 2280 St. Mary's Road, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2; the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3, or the charity of your choice.
