Dad was born and raised in Elphinstone, MB to Scotty and Maggie Fowler. He was the eldest of eight children. As a young man, Campbell worked for area farmers until he enlisted in the army and served in the Second World War from 1941 to 1945. Campbell and Grace married in July 1941 before he went overseas. Upon returning home, he gained employment with the Department of National Defense where he worked for the next 25 years until a heart attack forced him to retire. In his younger years, Campbell enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and being a Boy Scout leader. He and Grace were both active members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117. He had 63 years of service. Campbell was predeceased by his parents, his wife Grace in 2004, his brothers Eric, Donald, Jim, and Sandy; and his sister Margaret. He will be sadly missed by his sons Serle (Sheryl) and Goldwyn (Lyn), grandsons Harlan (Lisa), Richard (Nicole), and Christian; granddaughter Christianne; great-grandchildren Peyton, Connor, Brandt, Dawson, and Jode. He is also survived by his brothers Edwin (Eileen) of British Columbia, Sid (Marge) of Strathclair; sisters-in-law Verna, Evelyn and Trudy of Winnipeg and Lois and Bernice of Brandon plus numerous nephews and nieces. Thank you to the homecare nurses who helped Dad with his colostomy care for the past four years, especially Sonja.
