Date of Passing: Jan 25, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMONIQUE LOUISE MARIE HURD (nee VULLIEZ) 1958 - 2008 It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Monique, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister on January 25, 2008. She will be missed greatly by her husband Darrell; sons, Christopher and Brad; granddaughters, Emmaus, Mackenna, Shalysh, Sequoia, and Javelin; sisters, Debra and Michelle; brothers, Jon and Russell, along with all her family and friends. Niki was born and raised in Winnipeg where she married, lovingly raised her family and began her career with the Crown Prosecutors of Manitoba. Niki and Darrell spent 32 years loving each other. She was devoted to her boys and later to her granddaughters. The light in her eyes really brightened in the presence of the girls, who called her Tikka. She cherished every family dinner and sleep over with her granddaughters where they had tea parties and did crafts. Niki loved to cook and entertain family and friends, trying out new recipes no one left her house hungry. She also liked to tend to her flowers and little garden and try her hand in home renovating. Monique was predeceased by her mother Adrienne Vulliez; her father Jack Vulliez; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doug and Jean Hurd; her nephew Justin Hurd; and her grandson Gallagher Robertson. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 31, at 7:00 p.m., in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Niki's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8.
