Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH FRANCISCO CAVA November 13, 1921 - January 24, 2008 Peacefully, with family and friends at his side, on January 24, 2008 Joe passed away at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home. Joe was predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Marian; his youngest brother Raymond. Joe will be remembered by his brother John (Fran); nieces, nephews, extended families and friends. He will also be missed by Roger, Michele, George, the Dupuis and Norek families. He was born in Winnipeg and spent his younger years cooking at various mining camps throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Since his retirement in 1987, he has spent his time in Winnipeg, living at the Aberdeen and the Marion. Frankie, Mr. C, Shadow, Grandpa, and Black Prince were some of the endearing names his friends had coined for him. He spent numerous hours visiting and helping his friends in any way he could. A real gentleman with impeccable manners, he was extremely generous even going as far as having his body donated for research. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care Home and Doctor Bartlette for all the care and compassion shown to Joe through the years.
