WILLIAM FRYER January 30, 1934 - January 29, 2008 Peacefully, with his family by his side, at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Born in Toronto (Cabbagetown), predeceased by six brothers and grandchildren Tyler, Jodie and Jessica. Bill is survived by Audrey, his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, his daughters Pam Simpson (Dave), Vicki St Peter (Mike), Lisa Fryer (Gerald), and Lisa MacRae (Ian) as well as his cherished grandchildren, Hailey, Mason, Jacki, Allie, Josh, Jake, Kaylie and Erin. Bill will be remembered by his numerous friends and relatives for his quick wit, love of life and never ending practical jokes. Bill enjoyed an active retirement after 25 years in the Signals Regiment and 18 years in Corrections. Bill was an avid volunteer and enjoyed his crib and bowling leagues as well as his love of ANY Casino. Thank you for the quick response by the PUFF Fire Hall First Responders and the Kenora Ambulance Service. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Homik, Dr. Workman and the amazing hospital ICU staff. A special thank you to R.N. Laird who went above and beyond the call of duty. The family will receive friends at Browns Funeral Home on Friday February 1 at 1:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Reception to be held following service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bills memory to the Lung Association or the Lake of the Woods District Hospital would be appreciated by his family.
