MARY SCHEPANIUK
Date of Passing: Jan 26, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY SCHEPANIUK On January 26, 2008 Heaven received another angel. At the age of 96, Mary passed away peacefully at Holy Family Nursing Home, Winnipeg, MB. Mary was the eldest of 14 children who grew up in a large family on a farm near Broad Valley, MB. In 1962, Mary moved to Winnipeg to live with her sister Rose and husband Julian Korzenowsky. Over the years, Mary's extended family grew to include Rose's children, Don (Kim) Korzenowsky, Karen Korzenowsky (children, Crystal and Mathew), Sharon (Ken) O'Connor and Ron (Kathy and children, A.J. and Emily) Korzenowsky. In 1994, just before the passing of her sister Rose, she moved to Holy Family Nursing Home. Mary is survived by her sisters Jean Dudar, Alice Wichart and Anne Gurski. Mary was predeceased by her mother and father Anne and Mike Schepaniuk, sisters, Rose Korzenowsky, Stella Pulak, Sophia Rezansoff, Domia Schepaniuk and brothers, John, Joe, Charlie, Adolph, Peter and Frank and brothers-in-law, Julian Korzenowsky, Harold Rezansoff, Walter Pulak, Walter Dudar, Jerry Wichart and George Gurski. Mary is also survived and predeceased by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary was a woman of few words. She was gentle and patient with a heart of gold; never demanding anything. She enjoyed the simple things in life. Her laughter and smile will forever be remembered by those who met her. Over the years, Mary was blessed to have such a devoted niece as Sharon. Mary treasured Sharon for taking the time to be with her and cherished her for the love, compassion and care she showed her everyday. Over the years the incredible staff at Holy Family became her extended family, especially Agnus and Shirley. It would take a lifetime to praise Agnus and Shirley for the amazing care and compassion each gave to Mary. To have you both to depend on meant more to Mary and Sharon than either could ever put into words. Immediate cremation will take place with private burial to following the spring. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Memories were created but it's your love and kindness that I'll cherish. I will miss you tremendously...
