ELLEN JANE (JEAN) BAUER (nee STRACHAN) December l8, l9l0 - January 29, 2008 Peacefully, at Middlechurch Home, on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the age of 97 years, Jean Bauer passed away. Born in Winnipeg to George and Jane Strachan (McDonald), Jean spent all her life in West Kildonan. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bill Bauer in l987, her daughter Pat Armstrong in 2003, and all her siblings, sisters Bess Todd, Sophia Brookfield, Lilly Healey and brother George Strachan. Jean is survived by daughter Jean Bowman (Burt), son Bill Bauer (Helen) and son-in-law Terry Armstrong, eight grandchildren, l6 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews. Jean loved music and played the piano, organ and accordion. She also loved to dance. In her younger years Jean spent many happy summers on her uncles farm near Stonewall and in later years she and her husband Bill enjoyed summers at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach. The family wish to thank the staff at Middlechurch Home - Ward D2 for their kindness and caring. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
