Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFABIAN (SAM) MCIVOR May 26, 1965 - January 30, 2008 Manitoo Binessi God's Thunderbird It is with great sadness we announce the sudden and untimely death of our dear beloved brother, cousin, uncle and friend, Fabian Sam McIvor. Sam was raised by the late Norbert and Hazel Doreen Roulette. He attended Sandy Bay School and later moved to Winnipeg where he resided until his passing. Sam was predeceased by his father Albert J. Roulette. He is survived by his mother, Mary Myrtle McIvor, three sisters, Norma Anne Roulette (Dave), Sandra McIvor (Sonny) and Alison Desjarlais (Kyle); six brothers, Edward Houle (Amanda), Kenny, Tony (Phyllis), Frank, and Sherrold Desjarlais; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and extended family. Sam had his own unique lifestyle but we respected his choices. He enjoyed entertaining, cooking, decorating, babysitting, socializing and traveling. He was gifted with an excellent memory for remembering names and phone numbers. He had a nickname/comment for everyone he met. Sam volunteered at Children Of The Earth School in the Native Language program. Even when he was living in Winnipeg he still kept in touch with friends and family in Sandy Bay. He often traveled out to visit and attend different functions. We admired his courage in the challenges he faced on a daily basis caused by his surgery he underwent three years ago for throat cancer. We'll miss his sense of humour, his love of life and his storytelling. Wake service will begin on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sandy Bay Community Complex. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., in the Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba. Interment will follow in the Sandy Bay Cemetery. Clarke's Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements. www.clarkesfuneralhome.com
