Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE SEGAL Elsie passed away on January 16, 2008. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 10, 1916. Her parents, Leon and Vera Tregobov, sisters Bessie Werier and Sara Wolk, husband Gilbert and daughter Ronda, predeceased her. Left to mourn her passing are her son Sid (Cindy), grandchildren Alissa and Mitchell Segal, Lisa (Marty) Morantz, Darcy (Lyle) Grosney and great-grandchildren Jeremy and Nathan Morantz. Elsie graduated from Peretz School, St. John's Tech, then Business College and worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for J. Werier and Co. until raising her family. She was President of the Jewish Women's Musical Club and a lifelong member of the Rosh Pina Synagogue. She loved playing Mah Jong, music, ballet, dance, travel, but most of all, loved being a truly extraordinary daughter, sister, homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Elsie was one of the most gentle, kind and happy souls most people have ever met! Her jokes and story telling were legendary. Elsie was always able to persevere through life's challenges and tragedies and focus on the beauty in the world and the good in everyone. She was always devoted to her family and friends and loved by all, who were enriched by having known her. Elsie's final goodbye was, "I had a good, long time. You go have fun. I will always be with you." Contributions in her honour can be made to the Elsie Segal Memorial Fund at the Okanagan Jewish Community Centre (250) 862-2305.
