Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJONATHAN EDWARD FARR August 6, 1975 - January 27, 2008 Jonathan left us suddenly, unexpectedly and tragically on January 27th, 2008 in Baltimore, Maryland. He came into this world in 1975 in Winnipeg. He enjoyed a life of love and happiness growing up in Vancouver and Winnipeg. He attended St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby, BC and graduated high school at Oak Park Collegiate in Winnipeg. Jonathan made many wonderful friends everywhere he went. He was an elite athlete in hockey and lacrosse. His minor hockey, atom through bantam, was as a New Westminster Royal. He finished midget with the Assiniboine Park Rangers in Winnipeg. But it was lacrosse that he loved. It was lacrosse that took him on his journey. He learned the game in the New Westminster Salmonbellies organization and then played Junior A box lacrosse in both Winnipeg and Victoria. While in Winnipeg he represented Manitoba in national competition five times as a member of the Junior A box lacrosse all stars and in field lacrosse in the under 19 and senior divisions. His high level of skill and achievement earned him the chance to play as an NCAA scholarship athlete at Limestone College in Gaffney South Carolina. His name will always be in the Limestone Saints record book as the team's top goal scorer for two seasons. Jonathan was honoured as a Deep South Conference all star and was selected as a pre-season All American in his junior year. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science. It was in South Carolina where he met and married the lovely Anna. Career opportunities took Jonathan and Anna to Baltimore, where they prospered. His charm and natural sales ability opened doors at every turn. Jonathan will be lovingly remembered forever by his parents, Ted and Terrie Farr of Saskatoon, his sister Natalie Murphy and brother-in-law Rob Murphy of Penticton, his wife Anna in Baltimore, his grandparents Reverend Jack and Catherine Farr of Ladysmith, BC and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws on all sides of his extended family, in two countries. Jonathan was a fiercely loyal human being. He lived to win. Everywhere he travelled across Western Canada and into the United States he earned the love and respect of family, close friends, teammates and business partners. We only hope he knew that. Jonathan will be honoured with a celebration of his life in Baltimore and in Vancouver. It'll be a party. He would have wanted it that way. It will be at Clancy's Sports Bar in the Royal Towers in New Westminster at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7. Parking passes available.
