BEVERLEY A. L. YAWORSKI (nee SCARFE) 1932 - 2008 Surrounded by her loving family, Bev passed away peacefully at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg on January 29, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), her soul now free from a body that had become her prison. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, Bev will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, Peter; her sons, Jim (Julie) of Calgary, Bob (Myrna); her daughter, Lesley; her six grandchildren of whom she was very proud and loved very much, Kristin, Chelsea, Hunter, Lynele, Robyn and Beverley; step-grandsons, Morgan and Wade; her sister Joan Shaw (Don); her nephews, David (Ronalee) and Grant (Signy); her uncle, Calvin Scarfe (Anne) of London, ON and many much loved cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Howard (1987) and her mother Ainslie (1996). Bev was no stranger to pain having suffered for the greater part of her life with rheumatoid arthritis. In spite of this, she enjoyed life to its fullness, long rides with Peter through the mountains, endless hockey games in Calgary and Winnipeg and very special times with family and friends. Bev's working career began at the UIC, then the Society for Crippled Children and lastly with the MLCC. At each of these places, she made lifelong friendships that have meant so much to her in her final illness. The family would especially like to thank Leona, Nancy, Ruth, and June, for all their love and support for Bev and to all her friends and former co-workers for their visits and phone calls. She will always be remembered for her beautiful warm smile, her keen sense of humour and her love, patience and compassion for all of us. Our family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Middlechurch Home for their care for Bev over the past two years, especially the BI team. All of you treated Bev with the greatest respect and compassion. You'll Never Walk Alone In accordance with Bev's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa's Parish, 3597 Main Street, West St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation for their research into degenerative brain diseases, to the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Crohn's Colitis Society or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
