JESSIE MALCHESKI (nee KARAIM) It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Jessie, our beloved Mother, Nana , Auntie, and friend on January 29, 2008 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her son Ronald, granddaughter Nadine (Todd), great-grandchildren Bradley (Lauren) and Brittany. She will also be sadly missed by her surviving sisters Mary, Nellie and Carol as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Victor (1980), her parents Basil and Veronica Karaim and ten of her siblings. Born on June 15, 1914 in Mossy River, MB. As a child, she lived in Ashville, MB. As a young woman, she moved to Kenora, ON. Then in 1936, she settled in Winnipeg until her passing. Jessie worked for 27 years at Ray-O-Vac. After her retirement, she was able to pursue her many hobbies. As an avid 10-pin bowler, she enjoyed many tournaments at home, and out of town. Many people were recipients of her lovely handy work from knitting and crocheting that she did so lovingly. Jessie loved to travel, spending some winters at her niece's in Florida, as well as destinations as far away as Australia, New Zealand and Ukraine. However Jessie's true passion was volunteering. No request was too much for her to do. So many enjoyed her gracious nature, her gentle touch, her cute smile, and sense of humor. Jessie touched so many lives in such a positive way. Special thanks to the staff and friends at Holy Family Nursing Home and Seven Oaks General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg MB R3L 0K6 or Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
