JOHN (BOBE) PATERSON Together Again Peacefully on January 29, 2008 John passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 82. He is survived by his three sons Allen (Marianne), Gary (Marilyn), and Murray (Charlene) and grandchildren Melissa, Morgan, Sheena, Sam, Adam and Dylan. He also leaves to mourn his passing brother Andy, sister Margie Corneillie (Rene) and sister-in-law Shonney as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by wife Mary, and brothers Doug and Jimmy. Dad was born, raised and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He served overseas in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. Upon his return he met Mary Wilgosh and they wed in November 1950. He worked at T. Eaton Company and retired in 1990 with over 35 years of service in the display department. After their retirement Mom and Dad spent many enjoyable years vacationing in Arizona. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially the summers spent at West Hawk Lake camping and fishing. Recently he started a new career as the family baker. Johnny Crocker perfected matrimonial cake and various pies which he thoroughly enjoyed serving to his family and friends. His favourite pastimes included tending to his vegetable and flower gardens, Wednesday night BINGO, family card games, and day trips bonding with his brother Andy and niece Bonny and her husband Fred. One of Dad's greatest joys was spending quality time with his family and friends. Even while in the hospital Dad never lost his sense of humour or his delight of teasing his children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all the medical staff in the Emergency Department and on 5B at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. At Dad s request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made in John's memory to The Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3L 0K6.
