DENIS LAFANTAISIE June 6, 1940 - January 30, 2008 Surrounded by his family Denis peacefully passed away on January 30 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 67 years. Denis was predeceased by his father Salim and mother Flore; sister Jeanne Patenaude. Left to cherish his loving memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Pauline Lafantaisie (nee Lamirande); three sons, Danny (Kim) Lafantaisie, David (Lucie) Lafantaisie, Allan Lafantaisie (Angie); his grandson Jeremy and granddaughter Jamie who were is pride and joy and that he loved dearly; seven sisters, Therese (Jean) Trudel, Claire Normand, Germaine Normand, Aline (Louis) Dumas, Denise (Eddy) Labossiere, Rolande Lafantaisie, France Lafantaisie, Marie (Roland) Tetrault; two brothers, Jean (Linda) Lafantaisie, Gerard (Carmelle) Lafantaisie; brother-in-law Eugene Patenaude and numerous nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law. Denis was born on June 6, 1940 in St. Malo, Manitoba. Upon finishing school he went to work for Rice Sportswear garment factory in St. Malo and worked most of his life in the clothing industry. He also worked for Woolco before finally ending up at Foyer Valade Care Home from which he retired. After retirement he started his lawn and garden business which also included snow cleaning. Denis was a very generous and was always sharing his garden produce with family and friends. He was always ready to visit the sick at the hospital or at their homes. Denis was a thoughtful, kind, generous and loving man and those are only a few of his qualities. He always looked forward to the family hockey tournament watching his three sons play hockey. He had pride in attending Jeremy's hockey games and Jamie's dance recitals. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road at 11:00 a.m. Father Phil Daley officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital ICU. A special thanks to Father Patrick Morand, and pastor Lynn. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Denis name to the Siloam Mission 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 9Z9.
