Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY KEITH COUSINS With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Roy Cousins on Friday, February 1, 2008 with his loving partner Doreen by his side. Roy was predeceased by his wife Lillian (nee Hansen); parents Alfred Fredrick and Florabelle; daughter Catherine; granddaughter Rochelle; one brother Albert and four sisters, Annie, Hazel, Mabel and Ivadelle. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Carole (Harold) Moffat of Portage la Prairie, Andrea (Clark) Clemmer of Kitchener, ON, Monte (Maureen) Cousins of Snow Lake, MB, Nancy (Gordon) Hoover of Calgary, AB, Sally (Marvin) Wiese of Tisdale, SK, Rory (Bev) Cousins of Portage la Prairie, Susan (Jamie) Bartlett of Port Moody, BC, and Kelly (Brenda) Cousins of Portage la Prairie; 18 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and the love of his life Doreen. Roy was born in Elie, Manitoba, on February 11, 1913. He attended Victoria School and Portage Collegiate Institute. Throughout his life, Roy enjoyed various positions of employment including CN Railroad, Control Tower Operator at No 7 AOS Portage la Prairie, Manitoba Telephone System, the Provincial Government and owner/operator of his painting and decorating business. Roy's affiliations in the community included being a life member of the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #32, a member of the Portage Branch of the Masonic Lodge Assiniboine #7, past vice- president of the A.N.A. F. Club, member of the Royal Canadian Legion; share holder and member of the Portage Golf Club; life member of the Commonwealth Air Training Museum Inc., Brandon, MB; and a charter member of the Portage Community Foundation. An avid golfer and cross country skier, Roy enjoyed most sports throughout his life. Roy was well travelled, having spent time in Europe and the Mediteranean as well as his annual winter vacation in Kauai, Hawaii. Roy was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed family get togethers and summer barbeques in the backyard. His sharp wit, humorous stories and wonderful singing voice will be missed. In keeping with Roy's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at St. Mary's la Prairie Anglican Church, 36 2nd Street SW, Portage la Prairie, on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. with The Ven. Norman Collier officiating. Also at Roy's request, interment is to take place at a later date. Irish Blessing Prayer May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back.
