GEORGE ROBERT CORBETT April 13, 1935 - February 2, 2008 Peacefully, on February 2, 2008, George passed away with his family by his side, after a long battle with Parkinson's. George leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife Beverley, children, George (Margaret), Kathy, Shaun (Sandy) and Shannon (Paul) and grandchildren, Ashley, Chad, Josh, Riley, Thomas and Lily. He also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law, Maureen (Ray) and Jean, brothers-in-law, David and Harold (Pat), as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Florence and brother Alfred. George was a great man. He was dedicated to his family and friends, community, sports and work. If there was a team that needed a coach or a player, an organization that needed a volunteer, George was there. George also loved spending time with his family and friends at Lester Beach. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue West, with Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. A big thank-you goes out to the medical staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, especially to Cheryl, who was a huge support to George and his family. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Society Manitoba, 171 Donald Street, Suite 302, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4.
