ROXANNE CATHERINE OLIVE CHEYNE November 23, 1933 - February 3, 2008 Peacefully at the St. Boniface General Hospital with her family by her side, Roxy (as she was known to all) passed away at the age of 74 years. She was predeceased by her son Garry, sister Elaine Slobodianek and her parents Stanley and Jeanne Irwin. Roxy was born in Grahamdale, MB, on November 23, 1933. She is survived by her loving husband Stewart, sons Irwin (Val) and Dwayne (Kelley), and grandchildren Lisa and Colin. She will also be missed by her sisters Shirley Peterson, Adele Bond and stepbrother Clarence (Heida) Koch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roxy and Stew were married on July 22, 1955, and they were happily married for over 52 years. Roxy enjoyed sports both as a participant and as a fan. Roxy was an outstanding baseball player with the Teulon girls' baseball team when she was younger. She also enjoyed curling for many years. She was an avid golfer and spent 30 years managing the clubhouse at the Teulon Golf Country Club, retiring in 1996 with a lifetime membership. Roxy spent many years at the rink cheering on her favourite hockey teams whether it be Stew or her sons. She enjoyed her many golf trips to Florida and California with Stew and their special friends Stan and Marg Charison. Roxy loved entertaining and enjoyed their morning coffee sessions with her many friends. She loved a good game of Skip-Bo or FreeCell, and always enjoyed her outings to the casino. Roxy and Stew spent many hours together preparing hundreds of jars of pickles from their garden that she shared with everyone. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 7 at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews and Margaret Charison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. We love you, Roxy, and you will forever be in our hearts. MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
