Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN-BAPTISTE COMTE (1910 - 2008) Peacefully on February 3, 2008, at the age of 98 years, Jean-Baptiste Comte passed away at the Foyer Notre Dame surrounded by his family. He is lovingly remembered by his 11 children, Marcel, Charles (Emilie), Gabriel (Gertrude), Hubert (Olive), Cécile Sarrasin (Philippe), Thérèse Bilodeau (Lucien), Henri (Marie-Anne), Auguste (Frances), Agnès Geisel (Ed), Rose-Marie Coram (Bruce) and Louis (Donna), 45 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his in-laws, Henri (Angele), Anysie Labossière, Julie Moon, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Germaine (née Labossière), a daughter Andrée, a daughter-in-law Albina, a grandson David Comte, his parents Auguste and Félicie, and by his sisters, Marie Meyer and Thérèse Jamault. Jean-Baptiste was born on the family farm in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. He farmed all his life, retired at 87 years old, then moved to the Foyer Notre Dame two years later. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, excelled in sports, whether it was baseball, curling or horseshoes and enjoyed bridge and bingo. Always witty and kind, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved all those family reunions. He was a devout Catholic, a trustee for the local school and was active in community activities, especially at the Club d'âge d'or in Notre Dame. Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., Recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m., with Father Léon Mubikayi officiating. Pallbearers will be Gerald Comte, Jean Sarrasin, Réal Comte, David Geisel, Maurice Comte and Jeffrey Coram. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Foyer for their loving care of our father and grandfather. Papa Comte I miss you so much. I remember when I used to come out to the farm and visit you and also in the home you were living in. I loved coming to see you and you didn't deserve to go, you are a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. You have a little great-great-grandson his name is Drayden and he is going to be a year old on June 14th. I wish you could have met him and he could have met you to see how wonderful of a person you are. He is so cute and so handsome, and you would have loved him to pieces. I wish I could have said goodbye and I know that grandma and my mom and the rest of the family miss you so much, always loved and never forgotten <3 you are always in our hearts papa Comte!
