Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATTHEW FRANCIS BARRON (FRANK) MCAULEY 1946 - 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather on February 1, 2008, at the age of 61 years. He was predeceased by his parents Francis George and Katherine Frances McAuley. Frank will be missed by his wife of 36 years Geraldine ( Gerry ), sons Frank (April) and George (Chas), granddaughter and the apple of his eye - Jessica, sisters Beth (Don) Knox and Heather (Neil) Ramsay and brother Malcolm (Becky) McAuley. Frank attended St. John's Boys School in Winnipeg and later Selkirk and then enlisted in the Army, Princess Pat's Armoured Calvary. He was posted to Berlin with the NATO Peacekeeping Force. At the end of his enlistment he returned to complete his education with his adopted Uncle Ian Barron. He became a Power Line Technician for Manitoba Hydro and began a career that spanned 40 years and four provinces, giving in to his wanderlust. Frank's final position was as a Technical Assistant with Manitoba Hydro in the Selkirk Region, completing the loop. He put off retirement to continue doing the job he loved, with people for whom he cared. Frank was a Master Mason of the Stony Mountain Lodge, a Rough Rider and a member of the Scottish Rite. The charity work of the Shriners touched him and he participated whenever possible. Frank was loved by all and his sense of humour brightened many a situation. He was a jack-of-all-trades and his willingness to help renovated many a house and cleared many trees. He truly was a helpful, selfless man and we will love him always. How do I say goodbye when you are my everything, I'm not ready for you to go, I'm not ready to say goodbye. There was much left to do as a family, there was so much left for you to do. Why did you have to go so soon? So how do you say goodbye when there is so much left you still need to do? I am not ready to say goodbye How can I ever say goodbye... The family would like to thank the courageous efforts of the ambulance attendants and doctors that fought so diligently to save his life. Special thanks to Rod Boychuk, Tracy Riley, Reg Vaughan, Jeff Pinkowski and Frank's co-workers who were there when needed. The family appreciates the sympathy and caring of everyone who has given their much needed support at this time of crisis. A funeral service to celebrate Frank's life will be held at Christ Church Anglican, 227 McLean Avenue, Selkirk, Manitoba, on Friday, February 8, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. and a luncheon will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, 403 Eveline Street, Selkirk.
