Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ROSS MCCORMICK August 21, 1951- February 3, 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Peter Ross McCormick on February 3, 2008, at the age of 56 years. Ross was predeceased by his parents David and Maretta; brothers, Dennis and Ken. Ross will be lovingly remembered by his wife Debbie; daughter Cheryl (Scott); sons, Greg and Garett (Crystal) and grandchildren, Nick and Mason. Ross is also survived by his brother Gillis (Eleanor) and several nieces and nephews. Ross was born in Wapella, Saskatchewan, on August 21, 1951. He was the youngest of four children. In the years growing up in Saskatchewan, he worked as a farm hand and developed a love for land and agriculture. He later moved to Manitoba as a young newlywed, where he started work at the Canadian Pacific Railway. Ross planned to retire in June after 37 years with the railway. After building a new home in Hazelridge in 2003, Ross found immense satisfaction in grooming a beautiful manicured yard. He spent hours riding his lawn tractor, listening to country music and feeling pride in nurturing a special property. He grew gigantic pumpkins for his grandsons and loved to give vegetables to his friends, family and neighbours. At his new home, Ross enjoyed tinkering in his dream garage. There he found the time to renew his love for metalwork. His creative obelisks, gates and furniture are pieces that the family will always treasure. Ross was often busy reading a new novel or watching poker on TV but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. His smile lit up a room when when the grandchildren came to visit. Celebration of Ross's life will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008, in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West and Bond Street, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ross's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Ross was one of those people who was really enjoyable to talk with because of his down to earth nature. I wish I got to converse with him a little longer the last time I saw him. Ross was a great man who will be truly missed. God Bless you Ross. - Posted by: Robert&Geogette Lang (Family) on: Feb 06, 2008
