JOSEPH DONALD NOBISS (SONNY) It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Joseph on Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Deer Lodge Centre. Sonny was born in Stonewall, Manitoba, on November 9, 1924. He graduated grade 12 from Stonewall Collegiate. He joined the H.M.C.S. Chippawa and earned many medals, including the Pacific Star for service in the Second World War as a gunner. He also traveled to many ports across the world. He was predeceased by his mother Sara (nee Daniels) and father Dominic Nobiss; sisters Annie Walker and Mary Jane Nobiss; brothers Thomas and Alvin Nobiss. Left to mourn him are his loving sisters Kathleen Lavallee, Rose Pitzel and Sara Lacoff, his brother Dave and many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank all of the staff and nurses of Deer Lodge Centre who cared for our uncle Sonny all these years. Viewing will take place tonight, Thursday, February 7, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held from Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. So Long Sailor CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
