Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST BRIAN JAMES February 28, 1945 February 4, 2008 Encircled with love, at 8:10 on Monday morning, Ernie James peacefully began his journey to the Spirit World. Holding his right hand was his soul mate, Susan Houle. By his side were his sisters, Betty James, and Annie (James) Henry, and cousin, Ann Thompson. Also present were Antoinette French, Christine Pedura, Burtron Ramsden, and Diane and Anthony Niiganii. Awaiting Ernie in the Spirit World are his mother, Elizabeth James, father, Theodore (Tate) French, brothers, Robert, Gordie, Harry, and Oliver and sister, Mary Jane. A man who was never afraid to express his love for life and for others, Ernie was a cherished friend to all who knew him well. He was a respected mentor and a highly regarded advisor to many. He loved and respected his culture and enjoyed attending feasts, gatherings and powwows. Ernie is fondly remembered by his wonderful sense of humour and his love of music, especially Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. He loved bingo, sports, and action movies. He enjoyed going for coffee at Portage Place to visit all the people he knew. Ernie attended Portage Residential School with his buddies for life , Roy Thomas and Henry (Hank) Antoine. A traditional funeral will be held at Roseau River First Nation Community Hall, Friday, February 8, 2008 at noon. A Memorial Service will also be held in Winnipeg at the Circle of Life Thunderbird House, 715 Main Street on Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Miigwech to the staff and Pastoral Services at Riverview Health Centre as well as to Frank Walker who came to pray with Ernie and his family and friends. Creator, Bless the Spirit of this man who showed us love and shared his life with us in this world....Take him home dancing and singing and with a happy heart...
