DORIS OLIVE BENNETT (nee GREENHAM) December 29, 1919 - February 5, 2008 Peacefully in her sleep, shortly after her 88th birthday, Mom went to be with her Lord in Heaven on February 5 at the Riverview Health Centre. Mom took life one day at a time which was always her favourite expression. She always had a song in her heart. Her favourite song was You Are My Sunshine which we loved to sing for her. Her favourite hymns, which gave her much peace, were God Will Take Care of You and What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Through her many sacrifices, the whole family has a love for music and several family members became accomplished musicians. She was always very positive and everyday counted her many blessings. Mom was always very generous and loving and was very proud of her six children. They were her purpose in life. She was the best Mom in the world! We will miss her terribly but will always keep her memory in our hearts. Mom was a survivor who was predeceased by three husbands (Bill Stark in 1950, Arthur Zimmerman 1990, Harold Bennett 1996). She always said she was the last member of her immediate family still living. Left to mourn are her children: Bill (Barb) Stark - Surrey, British Columbia, Donna Stark, Ph.D. - Lakeland, Florida, Karen (Nels) Lindberg - Deadwood, Alberta, Colin (Val) Stark - Winnipeg, Debbie (Doug) Dubeau - Winnipeg, Katherine Lamoureux (fiance Jim) - Winnipeg. She will be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. A memorial service is planned for a later date. We love you Mom - you will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to thank Debbie Dubeau for her many years of endless loving care for Mom as well as the staff in CD-4 at Riverview Health Centre. It was greatly appreciated! In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Weston Gospel Church (Cross Church), where Mom and the family attended for many years. Remembrances and condolences for Mom may be sent to her baby boy Colin at cstark@mts.net One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
